From the multi-award winning producers of VNA Productions, comes the the first ever Gauteng staging of the highly acclaimed production of Skrapnel, by Multi award winning writer Willem Anker. This staging is made possible by the South African State Theatre for its school set works program.
The play tells the story of the death of a young man after the suicide bomb attacks on 7 July on the public transport system in London, 2005.
The characters become stereotypes of the young, disillusioned South African generation of the 20th century. The characters are unsure of their future and their relationships with their country and even their parents.
The play is an entangled piece of writing, with surprising twists and turns and many meta-textual references and excessive metaphors. Thus, making Skrapnel a story that will not leave the viewer unsatisfied.
