The SAMA award-winning duo of Bongi & Collin announced on Wednesday a two-month tour to the US as part of promoting their current album.
It’s almost like going back to where it all began for the album as it was recorded it in the US with Multi-award-winning, Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Stan Jones. The tour will see them visit places like Arizona, Mississippi Jackson, New York, Los Angeles, Austin Texas, Atlanta and Las Vegas. It’s being done in conjunction with the I Can Foundation. Part of the tour will be aimed at the Black History month celebrations events.
Speaking on the eve of their departure, the much-loved married couple confirmed that their tour will start in Tucson Arizona, before expanding to other areas. The rest of the itinerary will be released as the tour unfolds. From 10 to 18 March they will be attending South by Southwest (abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By) Conference & Festival in Austin Texas. This is being done in conjunction with the DTI, IMEXSA and SEDA. They are even scheduled to perform at the South African Showcase on 15 March together with other artists travelling under the umbrella of IMEXSA. SXSW Music is the largest music festival of its kind in the world, with more than 2,000 acts as of 2014, and a total of over 51,000 registrants from various countries across the globe. Other notable South Africans attending the event includes Cassper Nyovest who is scheduled to perform at the event and the US-based Trevor Noah who is scheduled to have a panel there.
Their next stops will also include Las Vegas where they will be attending The Stellar awards, one of the premier gospel music awards in the US. They will return home to SA beginning of April, following the conclusion of their tour. It will be a brief stop as there already plans to return to New York at the end of April, and also France and UK in June.
