Connie Friedmann’s Zoemba, a new SA musical theatre production for children prepares for its run at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square in Sandton.
Daphne Kuhn presents Connie Friedmann’s Zoemba, a musical theatre production for children with Matatho Mampa, Pieter Erasmus and of course Zoemba, which opens on 27 June at 15:00. Zoemba, written and conceived by Connie Friedmann, will run from 26 June to 7 July. Its storyline addresses real environmental issues experienced by Zoemba the rhino and his friends. Suspense-filled interactive stories, stunning music, sing-a-long songs, audience participation and energetic dancing is just part of the fun-filled holiday package.
Zoemba has wonderful messages for our young people, making them aware of our precious rhinos, recycling, conservation and friendships.
Enter the magical journey of Zoemba the Rhino. He lives in a game reserve with his two friends, Jippie and Doolie. Zoemba is a unique rhino, he has two rainbow horns and loves music and dancing. Those unique horns appeal to a sneaky poacher who is lurking in the park, and waits for the right opportunity to try and steal Zoemba’s horns. Come and join us to find out if the poacher is able to capture Zoemba, and if Jippie and Doolie can help Zoemba out of trouble. The show deals with issues that affect Zoemba’s life from poaching to pollution.
Sandton’s Auto & General Theatre on the Square, by arrangement with CK Productions, proudly presents this cool new musical theatre production for kids from 2 – 8 years old. It’s an exciting tale that will have them in suspense until the end – screaming with laughter, boo’ing the poacher off the stage, while singing and dancing along to the energetic, catchy original musical score. The production is directed by Bronwyn Evans and choreographed by Joubert Jonker.
The show stars Zoemba, Matatho Mampa, and Pieter Erasmus. Come and join us and see the world through Zoemba’s eyes. Come and have fun and get involved with Zoemba’s plight. There is something in it for the older brothers and sisters as well as parents and grandparents!
