Phola Vibez is back at Sibikwa

Sibikwa Arts Centre presents the Ekurhuleni Jazz Ensemble as the headliner for the first Phola Vibez session of the year on 31 March 2019 at 14:00.

 

Ekurhuleni Jazz Ensemble will headline the session. Singers and musicians in the audience are then welcome to participate in a firey jam session to showcase their talents.

Ekurhuleni Jazz Ensemble was formed in 2015 in Daveyton. Local artists met to discuss the challenges they faced and possible solutions; as a result of those discussions, the ensemble was born. The band consists of musicians from Ekurhuleni region. Their repertoire ranges from Jazz standards to African Jazz, contemporary, classics and popular arrangements.

Since the band was established it has been performing at community events, local Jazz venues and participated in the Africa Month’s celebrations at Niki’s in Newtown. It also performed at Embizeni Arts festival commemorating OR Tambo and at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.

Phola Vibez is a lifestyle event that promises to be an afternoon filled with musical improvisations, unusual combinations and innovative Jazz. If you are up for an afternoon of exciting live music join us.

The first session of Phola Vibez Jazz will be hosted at Sibikwa Arts Centre on 31 March 2019, at 14:00. The audience will pay R30 per person to enter. Food, refreshments are available and there is safe parking at Sibikwa.
