On Saturday morning’s edition of Saturday’s Role With Reno, host Renos Spanoudes spoke to Joel Morris about Men in Tutus.
Men In Tutus is on stage now and Johannesburg audiences will be delighted to know that former SABT dancer, Joel Morris, has returned from the UK to perform in this weekend’s shows, which will be presented at the Teatro, Montecasino for four shows only from Friday 12th – Sunday 14th April.
Born on the Isle of Wight, Joel trained at the Royal Ballet School and received scholarships at the Royal Danish Ballet and ABT. He then performed globally in many principal and soloist roles with a number of international ballet companies including, Ballet de Zaragosa (Spain), The Atlanta Ballet, London City Ballet, K Ballet, South African Ballet Theatre, Cape Town City Ballet and English National Ballet.
Most recently, Joel, played the principal character of Mr Mistoffelees at the Palladium in London’s West End, in the 2015 production of Cats, alongside Nicole Scherzinger in the role of Grizabella.
