On Saturday morning’s edition of Saturday’s Role With Reno, host Renos Spanoudes spoke to Francois Theron about The Tiger Who Came To Tea at the National Children’s Theatre (NCT).
The Tiger Who Came To Tea.
The Tiger Who Came to Tea tells the story of a tiger who unexpectedly knocks on the door of Sophie’s house, just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Of course, things get a little crazy when the tiger tells them he is hungry and thirsty. He proceeds to eat all the sandwiches, all the buns, all the biscuits and then he drinks all the milk and even drains all the water from the tap. Sophie is worried. What will her Daddy say when he comes home and there is no food for supper?
The storyline is based on the classic bestselling book of all time by Judith Kerr; published in 1968, and never been out of print. Join the Tiger, Sophie and her Mummy and Daddy, in this happy slice of teatime mayhem. The musical is packed with magic, sing-a-long songs and great audience participation, and it’s on at National Children’s Theatre during the school holidays from 25 July 2017. It’s a stunning stage adaptation by David Wood of the classic tale of chaos at the tea table – expect to be surprised!
