SA’s gentleman of the comedy circuit, Ndumiso Lindi, has just signed with power house artist and event management company, Blu Blood, as his exclusive agency.
Ndumiso, also known as Roosta, effortlessly blends new-age style with old-school traditions, making for a comedy act that is outstanding and soulfully South African. He is a brilliant comedian whose accessible and well-constructed narrative has endeared him to audiences of all races.
Both Blu Blood and Ndumiso are excited about the new ventures they have planned for South African and African audiences in 2018. They are aiming to take the comedy circuit by storm, delivering witty, thoughtful, and most of all side-splitting comedy to people across the nation.
“Blu Blood makes comedy and entertainment accessible to every community in the country, even the smaller ones. I like that about them,” says Ndumiso.
Blu Blood is the leading talent and event management company in SA and proudly boasts an artist portfolio which includes Tumi Morake and Riaad Moosa.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ndumiso to the Blu Blood family. We have been following his career for a while and our paths crossed at the right time. He is incredibly talented and we are excited for what the future holds and what he is going to achieve,” says Blu Blood MD, Osman Osman.
As a young boy growing up in Zwelitsha in King William’s Town, Ndumiso recalls watching Barry Hilton at a stand-up show and having no idea what comedy was all about, but he was intrigued. While studying in Cape Town, without knowing it, he was honing his skills each day as he enjoyed being the raconteur of his group of friends and making them laugh through his own brand of down-to-earth and thoughtful comedy.
Ndumiso’s first two one-man shows, ‘Colour Mine’ and ‘Diluted People’ played to rave reviews and sold out audiences. Over the years, he has also honed his skills on audiences across Africa and performing to UK and USA audiences too. A career highlight was being invited to perform at the Montreal Comedy Festival in Switzerland.
“There is nothing like doing comedy at home but playing for an international audience teaches me to work harder. I have to work to make my jokes accessible in different countries, making sure an international audience can connect to me too,” says Ndumiso.
Ndumiso’s first project with Blu Blood, is a hilariously witty comedy show featuring the leading lady of comedy, Tumi Morake, titled Married But Not To Each Other. The show is a hilarious take on the roles and regulations of marriage and the pothole-laced roads the sexes have to navigate. It’s not just about marriage. It is about the world that these marriages have to survive in.
The duo have already performed to sell-out shows across Menlyn, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Botswana. The next leg of the tour includes:
- May 25 – Mmabatho Palms (Mahikeng)
- July 6 – Silverstar Casino (Krugersdorp)
- July 21 – Sibaya Casino (Durban)
- August 3 – Graceland Casino (Secunda)
- August 4 – Emnotweni (Nelspruit)
