With only a few sleeps left until the Hilton Arts Festival, here are some important things to remember.
Most importantly … have you booked for the shows you absolutely don’t want to miss? You can book on the day, but by then there is no guarantee that things might be sold out. The full programme can be downloaded from www.hiltonfestival.co.za
Secondly … there is tons to do that is absolutely free: access to the festival, visual art exhibitions, bespoke craft market, certain movie screenings and the Envirochamp series of talks. And, of course, all the live music in the Stella Festival Marquee and the Crookes Craft Beer Bistro. PS … don’t forget the Gin Tin and the Bubbles Bar in the Extreme Chill area.
Next up. The weather. This could be anything! Dress like an onion … in layers. You might freeze, get wet or bask in 35-degree heat. Probably all in one day.
Parking. Thanks to the generosity of Absa there will be a shuttle service from the parking on the Hilton College fields to the centre of the festival site. Collection points for pick up in an Absa golf cart will be clearly marked. If you miss the lift, it’s not too far to walk.
And finally, some tips on what not to miss:
- For art lovers, the Pierneef van Wouw exhibition – a first of KZN
- Cellist with Rabies – what a love story!
- The Man and The Mouse – the story of Walt Disney
- Kafka’s Ape – incredible drama
