Combine a bite-sized heritage visit to the 1930’s home of Dr Xuma with a walking tour of this historic multicultural suburb. From learning about the Sophiatown legends who shaped our history, to dancing to the rhythm of the Sof’town beat, then hearing the stories of the forced removals and having tea and vetkoek with the residents – the Sof’town Urban Experience has something for everyone.

This tour stops at points of interest that shaped the city of Johannesburg and her townships, and created culture that influences us even today. It includes visits to three national heritage sites. You can also capture the spirit of Sophiatown in our photo booth and keep your memories for years to come.

We are open: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 – 16:30 or other hours by special bookings.
