Joburg Theatre Youth Development in partnership with Nicksoul Productions present Talk to Me The Musical at the Space.com Theatre from February 7-14.
Talk to Me The Musical tackles themes of love, marriage, culture and religion. It is fitting to present such a play during the month of love, February, when the whole nation is celebrating love. Talk to Me The Musical is a play that takes on a story of young newlyweds that are finding marriage not to be quite what they anticipated. The young couple, confined by their different backgrounds, struggle to understand each other as the one lives out parents’ expectations while the other tries to correct parent mistakes.
The play is written and produced by Nicholas Nkuna who is best known for his role as Sakhile on SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam. Nkuna will also be starring in Talk to Me The Musical alongside Pulani Rampoana who has performed in big musicals such as Hairspray, Snow-White and African Footprint.
Nkuna has starred in Disney’s The Lion King as Simba in the UK and Ireland Tours. In 2015, he was a finalist on BET’s Top Actor SA. He starred in Roer Jou Voete and is currently on Keeping score – SABC2 Telenovela. Talk to Me The Musical is his second instalment as a young producer.
