The music video from Wynand Strydom’s first single, Gebed, from his eighth solo album, Skielik Is Jy Vry, which features tracks by Koos du Plessis, has been released.
“I have always loved the music of Koos du Plessis. It has been a life-long dream to record all my favourite songs on one album. Gebed is one of Koos’ songs that does not require an intensive storyline in the music video. The lyrics are key, and I didn’t want a busy music video or any distractions. The song is uncomplicated and intimate, and I think it reflects in the video, just like Koos would have wanted it to,” says Wynand.
The video was produced by De Wet Wright from DW Creative and was shot in the beautiful town of Riebeeck Kasteel, in Cape Town.
Wynand is also busy converting the new album into a theatre production. “I believe it is necessary for everyone to experience Koos’ music. To work with people that knew him, like Laurika Rauch and Amanda Strydom, will be a huge honour,” says the popular singer.
Wynand grew up in Pretoria but moved to the West Coast in 2006 and currently lives in Langebaan with his wife Chereé and their two daughters. They have already recorded 3 duet-albums and are planning to release another one soon.
