Africa Zazi celebrates cultures through song, drum and dance for children and young people aged 8-14 every Monday from 2pm (ages 8-10), 3.30pm (ages 11-14).From Monday May 8 at Sophiatown the Mix, Africa Zazi, a vibrant interactive movement, will inspire children to learn about their continent.
Africa Zazu offers a weekly 30 minutes to 1 hour session learning the foundations of drumming, dance and music from different countries in Africa.
This is not a music lesson, but a fun approach to familiarizing children with African culture, learning the different indigenous instruments, vocal and dance abilities of the continent. It consists of music collaboration, conversation and rhythm language, using the body as an instrument. Children will be encouraged to do solos to encourage self-expression.
