The Sibikwa Arts Centre has joined with the Gauteng Dance Manyano to make Dance Xplosion 2017 an even more attractive opportunity for youth dance groups.
Dance Xplosion, the third and last leg of Thunya Lerole, the Sibikwa Dance Season 2017, provides a platform for all interested groups to showcase their work, grow their creativity, see what other dancers are up to and share ideas and opinions on current community dance trends.
For the audience, it is the ultimate occasion to experience the young dance community while building support for young dancers as they continue to pursue their passion for dance.
We call out to all dance groups, dance projects and community dance groups to register for the eighth edition of Dance Xplosion. Participants will be adjudicated by a dance industry panel and compete for fabulous cash prizes: first prize of R10,000, the second prize of R7,000, the third prize of R4,000 and R1,000 for the most promising group.
Dance Xplosion 2017 will take place at the Sibikwa Arts Centre in Benoni on Saturday 2 September from 09h30 to 16h30; tickets at the door R20 for adults, R10 for children under 12 years. Thunya Lerole, kick up the dust, and that is exactly what we are expecting from the participating groups!
Don’t miss your chance to be part of this exciting event. Register now by contacting Sibikwa at 011 422 43 59 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you an application form. Registration closes on Thursday 17 August so all application forms need to be returned on or before that date in order to secure your participation; the registration fee is R200 per group and needs to be paid upon registration. Please note that a representative of each group will be required to attend a pre-production meeting prior to Dance Xplosion.
