Roedean School in Parktown will be holding a Flute Day on Saturday, May 20, for flautists of all ages from Grade 2 playing standard upwards. The annual event will run from 11:00 – 17:00 at Roedean School, Princess of Wales Terrace, Parktown, Johannesburg. The sponsor this year is Michael Botha.
Performers will be divided into 3 groups: Grade 2 & 3, Grade 4 & 5 & Grade 6 and higher and the event will end with a concert.
Schools with flute ensembles are invited to perform one or two works at the concert and all participants will take part in the massed performance.
The coaches are Melane Hofmeyr-Burger, Handri Loots, Annemaria Muller and Pierre Tolsma.
The cost to enter is R150, which includes music, lunch and a goodie bag. A copy of the music to be performed will be e-mailed when your application and proof of payment is received. You will need to bring your flute, a music stand with your name on it and a pencil.
Michael Botha is sponsoring one of his flute headjoints and Lovemore Music is offering three R1000 gift vouchers which will be raffled.
The closing day for applications is Friday, May 12.
