The 2017 Collegiate Girls High School revue opens in the Savoy Theatre in Adcockvale, Port Elizabeth, on Wednesday, March 22, running to Saturday, March 25.
This four-day, five performance season is directed by Nadine Myburgh with musical direction by Ann Yates.
The show, titled Through Time, is a musical journey outlining the evolution of musical theatre from 1900 to the present day.
The revue will take the audience on a trip through time, highlighting much loved musicals set in different time periods.
Musical items from over 20 stage musicals as diverse and entertaining as Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Rock of Ages, The Sound of Music, Annie, Sister Act and High School Musical, plus many more, are interspersed with dialogue and monologues in a production that will challenge the preconceived gender and racial bias of the original casting.
The cast is comprised of 50 Collegiate High School pupils from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and the revue will feature a 12-piece band, made up of staff, pupils and professional musicians.
The show runs at 7pm nightly from Wednesday to Saturday, with the matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday.
Tickets are R100 and R80 for the matinee, all bookable at the school.
Block bookings of 15 tickets or more cost R80 each.
