Venue: Laughing Chefs Restaurant, Tapas Bar & Venue: 217 Soutpansberg Road, Rietondale, Pretoria

Gauteng Opera is back at Laughing Chefs and for this special performance, the artists from Gauteng Opera wants to honour women with the beautiful songs performed by Josh Groban. Restaurant owner, Maggie says: “We promote live, acoustic and good music”.

Joshua Winslow “Josh” Groban (born February 27, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. To date, he has sold over 25 million records worldwide. Groban originally studied acting, but moved to singing as his voice developed. David Foster called Groban to stand-in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli to rehearse a duet, “The Prayer”, with Celine Dion at the rehearsal for the 1998 Grammy Awards. Then Foster asked him to sing at the California Governor’s Gray Davis’ 1999 inauguration, followed by a cameo role on the successful series, Ally McBeal where he performed “You’re Still You” for the 2001 season finale. The rest, as they say, is history. Josh Groban is one of the favourite artists to regularly visit South Africa to ‘sold-out’ performances and this concert promises to be just as special.

The artists of Gauteng Opera will create their own arrangements of some of Josh Groban’s most well-known songs, such as The Prayer, You’re still you, Remember when it rained, You raise me up and Gira con me, to name a few.
