ASSITEJ SA are seeking artists, performers, musicians and drama practitioners with strong facilitation skills, who are based in either KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and the Northern Cape, to become part of our Kickstarter Creative Arts Project in 2018.
These artists would form a team of facilitators who then work intensively in primary schools alongside a Creative Arts teacher to support and guide both within the classroom and in developing the schools’ cultural activities.
They will receive an intensive training in facilitating the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for Primary Schools, and will be required to continue to foster their own development as facilitators over the course of the project.
Much of this project will be based on site in the schools, in these two specific areas:
KZN-Umlazi and Umgungundlovu districts, Free State-Fezile Dabi and Lejweleputswa, Northern Cape-Kimberley-Frances Baard district.
and therefore, applicants must have experience with working in schools and/ or a passion for education.
Artists who reside in KZN, FS and the Northern Cape will be given preference due to the residency nature of the project.
