The Market Theatre Foundation appoints Yusrah Bardien as Audience Engagement Strategist.
The Market Theatre Foundation is a national stage that stimulates, provokes and delights with an ambitious programming created to ignite local, national, and international engagement. For 41 years, the Market Theatre has presented shows that have inspired generations of artists and audiences and employed some of the most creative professionals from South Africa.
The key appointment of Yusrah Bardien as the Audience Engagement Strategist forms part of a bigger strategy for the Foundation to respond to the dynamic evolution of the institution and its growing business units which includes the Market Theatre Laboratory, Market Photo Workshop and the Windybrow Arts Centre. The role will require a person who is able to leverage opportunities and create meaningful engagement between the institution and its many partners.

It was an even a bigger task to find a professional who can embody the values and skills to carry this mission with a sound understanding of what the job entailed and can work independently and represent the institution well when engaging with a diverse range of partners. Yusrah Bardien, with her vast experience through her work with ASSITEJ SA and BASA was undoubtedly top of the list. She exudes professionalism and a great charismatic attitude that will be a perfect fit to our organisation and team,” said Zama Sweetness Buthelezi, Brand and Communication Manager at the Market Theatre Foundation.

Yusrah will join the Brand and Communications Department as of 1 July 2017 and be part of a dynamic team that is committed and passionate about building sustainable audiences.
