The Performing Arts Network of Southern Africa, Eastern Cape Region, is holding the Regional Finals of the Festival of Reading of New Writing. This national competition has been made possible by a grant from the National Lotteries Commission.
New, emerging and experienced writers were invited to submit new works and the top selected three plays from the Eastern Cape will be presented in a reading at the regional finals on Saturday, April 1, at the Port Elizabeth Opera House Hub in Chapel Street.
Admission is a nominal R30 for all three readings and the announcement of the regional winner at the end of the programme.
The winning finalist writers from the Eastern Cape are Mogomotso Monnana, Xolisa Ngubelanga and Robert Lourens, all still in the running for the top regional prize of R20 000 and the opportunity to represent the Eastern Cape at the National Finals in May.
The event on Saturday, April 1, will run from 11:00 to 15:00.
