Each stage will have its own obstacles which may include impromptu poems, no holds barred poems, or 2-minute poems. The obstacles are decided by the Stage Masters, the 12 poets have one life each and the Stage Masters have two lives.
The Stage Masters are Vu’sumuzi Phakathi, Zee Cube and Mutle Mothibe
