On Saturday morning’s edition of Saturday’s Role With Reno, host Renos Spanoudes spoke to Dalija Acin Thelander – Creating Dance Performances For Babies.
Creating Dance Performances For Babies
Dalija Acin Thelander is a cultural worker and choreographer based in Stockholm. Her current artistic research and creations focus on performances for babies. Her choreography focuses on heightened immediacy and immersion of the very young audience.
Thelander is interested in the exploration of the synergy of choreography and installation art and how they can be used to activate a young audience. Her performances enable the youngest audience to experience performing arts from multi-perspective, addressing their kinaesthetic sense as well as ‘near’ and ‘distant’ senses. Her audience are co-creators of the event and their experience and responses form a part of the aesthetic of the performance.
