On Saturday morning’s edition of Saturday’s Role With Reno, host Renos Spanoudes spoke to Gerard Bester about UN International Migrants Day at Hillbrow Theatre.
UN International Migrants Day.
The Outreach Foundation is honoured to be working together with Save the Children South Africa, in collaboration with Save the Children’s East and Southern Africa Regional Office to commemorate the UN International Migrants Day on the 18th December at the Hillbrow Theatre. The advocacy commemoration is organised as part of the broader regional advocacy which seeks to raise awareness on the need to strengthen efforts for the care and protection of migrants (children) in the SADC region and the importance of regional collaboration in maximising protection of unaccompanied and separated migrant children and other vulnerable migrants.
The event is also purposed to create a platform for migrant children living in Southern Africa to share their experiences and views on how best their protection can be maximised.
The day will start at 9am with an awareness mass march in Hillbrow. At 10.30 we move into the Hillbrow Theatre for testimonials from children and theatre work, Isaro, created by the Hillbrow Theatre Project.
