Gordon Cook is co-founder and school navigator for the Vega School of Brand Leadership, and will be involved in the creation of the new centre for arts learning and training.

The Alhambra Theatre, built in 1921, famous for its theatre productions which drew people from across South Africa has been standing empty for 20 years. Pieter Toerien has sold this historic building to the Affordable Housing Company (Afhco) who plan to turn the theatre into a centre for arts learning and training.

Afhco has renovated many buildings in the Joburg CBD and in Doornfontein where the Alhambra Theatre building stands. The company is also refurbishing the famous Jeppe Street post office into residential and retail space.
