Fresh from a nationwide talent search, Tshwane Gospel Choir brings you raw talent from all over South Africa with renditions from their latest album Revival. If you’re looking for spiritual upliftment and a great worship experience this season, then join Tshwane Gospel Choir Ministers for the Revival.
After a successful campaign of the 2015 released Mbonge album, the new Revival album is set to grace everyone with beautiful harmonies and joyful rhythms. “It is full of fresh tracks that are sure to inspire and excite not only the standing Tshwane Gospel Choir supporters but new audiences as well,” says Boitumelo Langa, TGC Manager.
Nomvula Nhlapho, one of the great altos amongst 34 vocalists and a five-piece band, has been with the choir for 4 years and has also recorded her own album. Catch her doing a beautiful rendition of ‘Yena Yedwa” from the latest album. The line-up also features original TGC singer Godfrey Mahlangu, who’s the first solo recorded artist under the TGC umbrella and a major favourite with the fans. He’s popularly known for his rendition of ‘Mahla a Bona’ in the first album ‘Modimo wa Mehlolo’. He returns with a greater bang on the latest album with his signature singing of the favourite ‘Akathengwa ngeGolide.
TGC is celebrating over 5 years of growth and success this year. In 2015 the choir was awarded Best Gospel Group in the SABC Crown Gospel Awards. Although new in the industry, the choir has had memorable performances, including the 2010 National Prayer Day for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and for 3 years has partnered with the Interfaith Chapter of the City of Tshwane in hosting impactful Prayer Days. In 2011, the TGC released their first critically acclaimed album ‘Modimo wa Mehlolo’. TGC was featured in the 2014 and 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe line-up in Scotland, and at the Brighton Fringe Festival in London 2015.
