The South African State Theatre in association with House of Talent presents McKenzie’s grand launch of his new album ‘Toro’, live at the Drama Theatre on 1 December.
The SAMA AWARD winning musician whose real name is Mckenzie Matome, is back again with another hit album called “Toro” for SA music lovers with a club-banging hit single called “Monate Potleng” featuring Dj Maphorisa.
‘Monate Potleng’ is a song to look forward to as it has already started, and is continuing to make waves in the music market. The new album ‘Toro’ has already been released through Universal Music and it has been available on the shelves since the end of October this year. In this single DJ Maphorisa expresses his singing talent as well, than being behind production scenes.
After writing and performing SAMA AWARD winning Song of the year “2 by 2” by duo group Rhythmic Elements, the North West Province born never looked back, he came with massive hits like “Hello Mr” and “Lesson number 1” which are still trending in our TV and Radio Stations as one of the best songs SA music has ever produced.
This Launch will feature on stage a line-up of South Africa’s hit makers in House Music including, Kelly Khumalo, Trademark, Choppa, Afrikan Roots, Campari and ‘Vee from Botswana’.
McKenzie says this concept is a combination of talented pioneers, being himself, as one of the best song writers in SA and DJ Maphorisa one of the best producers in Africa and beyond. “The combination of the experienced McKenzie and Dj Maphorisa came with feel of African vocal sounds elements that will be taking African Continent by storm, says Mckenzie”.
McKenzie have sold 2 platinum albums with Rhythmic Elements in the past, writing massive hits for best SA Artists that include “Uhuru/Oskido/Afrikan Roots/Dj Bucks/Sir Javas/Campari and many more. The song is currently trending extremely well on high rotation of major radio stations
“This launch is aimed at showcasing in performance the concept of the album Toro. We will include some live instruments. Guitars, Percussionist, a DJ and keyboards. Skilled choreography will be exploding on stage. We bring everything together on stage and tell the story of Toro. A singing and dance celebration of the house music album Toro, says Mckenzie.”
